umm.. just listen to see if you hear ant scratching noises or put out food and water in different places or just leave the cage on the floor with the door open. maybe even try humane traps. ive never tried the trap thing but it may work. ;)

Heres Three Ways !
Way One :
1.Get a bucket and lay some books so it makes steps.
2. Put Something strong smelling food in it
3. Wait ! he will soon come along and he can't climb out the bucket !
Way Two :
1 . Put little piles of strong smelling food all over the floor.
2 . lie on anything where he can't see you and wait !
3 . Do this in each room because he will get hungry.
Way Three :

Baby Face has the right idea...
we use to lose hamsters all the time the best trick is to get a sauce pan fill the bottom with his hammy food, stick a ladder on it so he can climb on in, and once hes in, it´ll be to deep to get back out!! Dont expect it to work within the hour, ours allways use to sneal in when we were always tuked up in bed!!
Good Luck finding your hammy! Let use know how u get on!!

Check under furniture and in closets. Then find instructions on how to build a have-a-heart trap and bait it with hamster food. Chances are it will come out at night looking for food and you will catch it.

I once had my hamster escape from it's cage (actually chewed his way out), and a week later saw him running around my apt. and was able to catch him. You might want to leave some food out in various places to see if you can lure him to it and then catch him. You may not have much luck actually searching for him as they can hide in odd places...you will just have to wait it out until he reappears.

Floyd used to get into the toy box.. don't know how .. and find marbles and pieces of crayon and puzzle parts. and then he would "hide" them in the floor of the closets.. mostly in the corners. We found his stashes before we caught up to him.. Once we found his 'spots' we just got out a flashlight and looked in the closets with a flashlight til we got him cornered and picked him up with an oven mit.

aahhh yes the dreaded lost hamster... i remember when mine got out we were looking EVERYWHERE then right before bed i went back to his cage and looked down and there he was!! Look in moist dark places like the basement, under clothes, under the couch, bed and refridgerator and stove... ANYWHERE that little booger could fit i would look there until you find him!

best places to search first are couches and please be careful not to let anyone sit on it until checked and reach around the inside corners! (lost one that way) Also if you have other animals keep a check around their food bowls he/she will smell the food and water and need it eventually- GOOD LUCK and I hope you find him!
