how do you make a basement in the sims2 ??Help!!!?

i keep on trying to make a basement but i just cant plz help!!!!!

on pc or ps2? i know how to make one for pc. first u use the terrain that makes the ground deeper to make the basement how deep and wide u want it. the put a deck over it. this will be your house. then u do ur house however u want it. after ur done put a conecting stair case where ever u want ur entrance to the basement to be. then decorate however u want and ur done.
