But, when I put it in reverse or even neutral the nose goes away. It's not that sqeaky sound that usually is associated with breaks. I read online it could be that the breaks are damp, which could be b/c it rained for 12 hours straight last night into this morning. Any other ideas?

Maybe your shocks? Or struts? Mine does that- I put it in drive with my foot on the brakes, and when it goes into gear the front end squeeks. It does it in other gears if I wait long enough- If I have my foot on the brake and pull into reverse, when in fully engages it makes the same sound only quieter. I just checked again. Lol I am so used to the sound I kinda block it out.

Does your do that if you try it that way? It only does in when I am going from park to reverse, or park to drive. When I go from drive to reverse, or reverse to drive it does not happen.
So basically, when I go from park into gear. Neutral doesn't count since it doesn't try to move when you put it into neutral. Know what I mean?
Anyhow my husband said it is part of my suspension, but he doesn't feel like fixing it yet, of course. But mine is more of a slight grinding, growling sound.

Your not holding the Brake pedal down, hard enough, and the car is 'slipping' slightly forwards.

Your probably pressing harder when your in reverse.

Try.

Your brakes are going. Get them checked out right away.
