denatured enzymes are nonfunctional because due to heat or a change in pH, enzymes which are proteins lose their conformation or their shape and become non functional. because the conformation is specific for fitting a substrate and catalyzing a reactions. Therefore, denaturing renders the enzyme nonfunctional.

When an enzyme is denatured, it's put in a liquid that changes its shape. For example, you can denature some enzymes by putting them in a certain salt solution, or a strong acid, and so on. You also heat some enzymes to denature them. The shape of an enzyme is very important for it to catalyze or make certain reactions happen. Once you mess up its shape, the chemicals that it causes to react can no longer fit into the enzyme because its shape has changed. So the enzyme becomes non-functional.

All enzymes are protein in nature.proteins are made up of small units called amino acids.based on the number of amino acids the complexity and structure of proteins differ.basically all amino acids are joined together by peptide bonds(and also diff bonds like sulphide etc).
denaturation can be brought about by action of acids/bases,heat,physical agitation on the protein, meaning the bonds between the amino acids of proteins are disturbed resulting in structural changes of the protein.
the strucutre of protein is impotant for its specific function.once the structure is lost or disturbed the function is lost.therfore the denatured enzymes(which basically are proteins)are non functional.

Denaturing, by definition, is damaging the protein molecule so it won't work anymore.

enzymes are proteins.
protein shape = its function.
denaturing an enzyme makes it lose its shape, therefore causing it to lose its function.
