I just got off the depo, so it might take a while for me.

Thanks

I was pregnant a month after I stopped using nuvaring. I've heard depo takes six months on average.

Depo-Provera is not a good choice if you want to be pregnant in the next year or two. Why? Because it typically takes 9 to 10 months to become pregnant after you stop taking Depo-Provera as a contraceptive. It could even take up to 24 months after discontinuing use of Depo-Provera for you to become pregnant. The length of time you use Depo-Provera has no effect on how long it takes you to become pregnant.

It took me 11 months to get pregnant after stopping the depo shot which i had been on for almost 4 years. (3 1/2yrs)

I have one friend who got prego ON depo.

Another friend, I swear to god... has twin boys conceived on Depo, and 2 years later, conceived TRIPLETS on depo. Soooo... I know it takes some people a while to conceive after getting off it, but obviously, its no exact science.

I seriously dont know why they still put people on that stuff. All the girls I know who used it ended up either gaining a lot of weight, or pregnant!

Good luck with this baby, and after you have it, ask your doc about Mirena. Its more effective than getting your tubes tied, safer than depo, the pill, or anything else out there, AND it wont hurt your fertility if/when you want another child. Fertility returns to normal immediately.

I got pregnant the first time I tried off Yasmine birth control, after having been on the pill for 7 years.

I was on the depo for 3 years and it took me just 5 weeks to fall with my first pregnancy.

I went on the pill after my daughter was born and 12 months later went off it to try for another....and a year since then - STILL no baby!

I am beginning to think its just pot luck!

Good luck and I hope you have as much sucess off the depo as I did! :o)

I got pregnant with my first son 4 days after quitting the pill(Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo). With my second we were pregnant within the first month also, and I had been using the Nuva Ring.

I heard that it takes a year. It might depend on how long you took it. But you know what every women's body is different so who really knows? I would talk to your doctor and have fun practicing for that baby. (wink)
