I have never touched an electric fence but I have several different people that I know have done so accidentally. The best one is the person that went out back of an old farmhouse and took a #1 on an electric fence. He said that he could not stop going until his blasser was empty and he was not feeling very good afterwards. It certainly did more than startle him. The man that was working with him almost wet his pants laughing about it when he was told about it later. I think that would probably have been the worst thing that could ever have heppened with an electric fence, Don't you? Have a great evening and a wonderful weekend!

Yep, many over the years when I was a kid.

Some are very mild - pointless I would think as I doubt and animal would be bother by it unless they licked it.

Other fences have been SERIOUSLY strong and stung quite badly.

Depends on the power of the energizer driving the fence - they are often run from a 12v battery but the actual fence can carry a charge of several kilovolts - safe though as almost zero current.

Yes I have. We have one on our farm intertwined with the barbed wire. Anyways, I was trying to get through the fence to catch our horses and I touched it.. It doesn't sting really - It's kind of a numb, tingly shock that goes through your arm or the part of your body that touched the fence. The amount of shock depends on how high the fence is charged.

That's funny you asked, because yes I did. On a farm in West Virginia. The fence was for sheep so it was short, I wanted to step over it so I grabbed the fence with both hands. ( I was standing in water) scared the crap out of me, shocked a little, but didn't really hurt. You don't need that much power for sheep i guess.

I was shocking. When I was a boy (60 yrs ago) it was great sport for a group of ten or so of us to hold hands-make a chain- and take turns grabbing the electric fence wire. CHILDREN: DO NOT DO THIS

Yes. It will shock you as if you were any other animals. Do not do as I did as when I was a child and hold a worm to the fence thinking the worm would get shocked and I wouldn't. The electricity went through him and directly into me.

Haha, that is funny, I actually was talking about this to my Mom just a few minutes ago. Yes I have touched an electic fence before, it was on a dare though.

Of course, I did it when I was young all the time. It startled me a little but not that much.

Yea, my superb buddy asked me to help her get her canine returned from some people who stole him...I climbed over the electrical powered fence ok and tried to push him over, he have been given caught up on the barbed cord strategies-blowing and the relaxing began...it became an electrifying journey for the two one human beings, I will consistently remember.

My very smart husband has. He and a friend were actually trying to put one back up that was trampled down by cattle. He had one string of it in his hand and found the other end and picked it up- thus completing the connection and got shocked pretty bad. He fell to the ground. Of course they thought it was funny when it was over but i would suggest staying away from them.
