My wood-frame futon is borken beyond repair so I need to get rid of it. Obviously, it won't fit in my trash can...where do I take it? Will it cost me money to get rid of it?

All great ideas but I'll let you in on a little secret that I do all the time. If you just set it out front with a sign that says free somebody might or might not take it....BUT..... If you put a sign on it that says... For Sale....$25.00.... I promise somebody will steal it..... works every time.. I've done it with an old lawnmower and a dishwasher!!!! Good Luck!

Maybe you can take a saw or a hatchet to it and chop it up in small enought pieces to fit in your trash can? You could always post it on a freecycle group and maybe someone can use it for firewood to keep warm with....

Call the trash company, tell them you have an over sized item for pick-up. They will tell you when you can put it out for pick-up.

call your sanitation dept. Sometimes they have a truck that just picks up large items, or they will tell you where to take it
