Real to me is something that has truth to it.
I perceive that your insight into "real" is based on how factual you think something really is.

Alright... first of all, I immediately thought of this guy who asked me a very similar question recently. What we agreed on was something like reality being a filling of space... more specifically, Asking the question is the key to answer it. If you had the ability to ask what is real, then obviously that much is... So you know that some form of reality allowed you to ask that question, and you know it is true because you have your own and other people's answers. Now when I think of reality I always think of that vague possibility that people are all just one big dream... one big fake... that nothing is real. Really that is ridiculous. Not necessarily stupid to question, but everything being one big illusion does not rule out reality. After all, if nothing was "real" in the type/terms of ''reality'' commonly used, then what we think it is is still a form of reality. Basically, what we think is real is almost definitely real... the physical things are definite. They are some form of reality that every sane person on Earth embraces and lets mold their life in some way. And the mental things are real in a way... they are used in the process of evaluating the physical things, as are emotional, spiritual, psychological, etc. So they cannot be ruled out. Even if everything people embrace is a lie, an illusion, then whatever is left, causing/allowing this or absent shows the presence of something else... therefore SOME FORM of reality.
Also... people are free to judge the existence of well... existence and if we are wrong then there is a right, isn't there? Something arose that made us at least think we are real, even if it is not something that we could not comprehend as being real. Otherwise where did this nice Mac come from!!?! Much love so go on spread it...
Anyways, I think that everything on Earth is real, that God is real, and that Heaven and Hell are real... religiously speaking cont. I am a Christian so I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy ghost but I know that not everyone does.

This sounds like an philosopy assignment question. Is it?
In the few isolated occasions in my life that I have actually questioned reality I've come up with different answers.
My latest answer is that reality is what the majority accepts as real

What is real - to me? (Reality vs. Truth)
Reality is subjective to one's perception. What(ever) you BELIEVE is your reality. If you believe the earth is flat, then, in YOUR reality, the earth is flat, and you will find whatever evidence to support that belief. If you believe the earth is round, the same process makes it your reality.
If you BELIEVE that human beings are no better than animals, then your reality will be that of an animal - you will live according to yor instincts and basal, bestial needs. However, if you BELIEVE that human beings are much more than a meat suit, and are capable of things beyond the eye can see, that we are our own creators of our own worlds, then your reality will allow you to live your life as a powerful, influential being that gets what he wants and achieve great things that others could not even visualize.
On the other hand, TRUTH is objective. Truth is unchanging. Human beings who seek the truth will also find that the truth has many facets, but it remains as one - the universal absolute.
Just as blind men try to figure out what an elephant is by exploring the elephant's body with their hands, we find many parts of the elephant 'truth' that we may believe as the whole elephant, but it is not the whole truth, but only a subjective perception of the whole truth.

Reality is the dream you can't wake up from. Sometimes I'm afraid that I'll suddenly wake up and realize everything I've been experiencing has been a dream. I'm not sure how I'll know that waking up isn't the dream, but somehow I'll know. Maybe death just means waking up from the dream that is your life.

What is real? The question is real. Why is it real? It wants to be real. Will random people's answers lead you to enlightenment? Of course ... not?

I can't define it, but I know it when I see it.
I felt anger, shame, ennui, and just a hint of melancholy.
