Yes, doing it now. It's a 6-month stint in a civil court. The pay is $20/day to show up, $35/day if you have to serve.

Yes. The trial was a hit and run. Best sleep I ever had. The attorneys were horrible. The pay is lousy. They paid me for mileage at 25 cents a mile. I couldn't even start my car for 25 cents. I no longer attend jury duty. I have various reasons which I use very effectively to be deferred.

I served on 2 juries. One was a battery case the other petty theft. In one case the defandant was guilty and the other we found him not guilty. Jury duty is just that a duty. Most jurisdictions will pay about $5 per day or so.

I have been a registered voter since 1971, and I have never been called for jury duty. I would love to do it. I know it doesn't pay much, but most emplyers will pay you the difference between your salary and what you are paid. They also usually pay a modest amount for transportation.

Yes, 8 days, cop shooting. They paid $9 a day. Most employers will give you the time off and pay you at their normal pay rate for you, you have to give your employer the check for $9--not a bad trade!

I don't know why jurors are paid so horribly, but it is a facinating process and it was interesting to see how our justice system works. I didn't agree with the other jurors, but they came to their conclusions based on their interpretation of the facts just like I did, and we all took the task very seriously.

2 civil and 1 criminal.

You don't get "paid" for serving on a jury...it is your duty and responsibility to offer your time to serve. What you get is a small daily stipend that is supposed to cover your travel expenses and meals. In my state, NJ it is $8.00 a day.
