I am an organ donor and feel strongly about GIVING any organ that is usable at the time of my death to anyone who needs it. I am a Christian and consider my body as just a vessel for my soul which will be gone when I die. Don't need it...save somone's life!
Selling human organs is scary to me as it could lead to "farming" organs from the handicapped, "undocumented", poor and homeless. I can see an increase in a morbid crime ring where bodies are dumped after being cleaned out of organs. Maybe I watch too much CSI, but I think that it should remain a personal choice and not "for profit". I know that there are too many people waiting for organs...I wish everyone would become an organ donor!

When a human been dies his body remains like an unusufull box ready to get eated by worms. The science and medicine have had further advances so the human organs from a dead body may be implanted in a disease organism that requires some organ to get well at full.
The best action that a dead person could do is giving live to a needed person.

I think it's more moral to donate an organ/use a donated organ for a transplant. It should be that way. But I mean, an organ's an organ, and people really need it, and if they want to buy one instead of waiting forever, then so be it - you can sacrifice a little principle for a life. I understand that some people desperate for money might sell their organs, and that wouldn't be fair, but it's still their choice. And the patients' choice to buy an organ.

If hearts, kidneys, etc, may be bought, do you doubt that homicide for employ could take position? Larry Niven wrote truly some memories about "organlegging" What about prisons? does no longer officials enable an "coincidence" to take position to redeem at the moment-used organs? the potential of abuse is so severe, that we gained't placed any funds on donations for worry of causing undesirable issues.

depends on the motive. i came from a poor country that most kidney donors do it for money. and some sindicates have started to gather organ donors in a promise of good profit out of it...now that's immoral... now, if you're the type of person who bumps on a person needing a kidney on the street and happens to own one(or two)and decided that he needed it more than you do... then, god be with you!!!

I don't mind giving up my organs for a good cause when I die (including my kidney somebody needs before I die), but it should NOT be at a cost. The 'cost' is them losing their lives without it - that SHOULD be 'cost enough!'

I have no problem with it at all. If someone wants to sell me their organs, great.
If, however, they want to sell me someone ELSE'S organs, that could be a problem. Did the other person volunteer for this?
