They like being different than mainstream. While most of us are searching for our sunshine, they are searching for their darkside. I had had friends that are goth and I love them, they represent the darkness in all of us that we try to hide. They express darkness well - and are an inspiration to anyone trying to understand the dark feelings they have inside.

Emo is a little embarrassing - the whining is irritating. But when I am in a sad place, it is good to have someone to identify with that. Most people run for the hills when someone is depressed - an emo will be there for you. (unless they are completely self absorbed)

Emo and goth just know those sadder and darker areas more than most of us - they can be of great help when we experience tough times.

Don't know too much about emos, but I've dealt w/ my share of "goths"....

They (mostly the women), *tend* to have a serious chip on their shoulders. Total in-your-face atittude. The thing that cracks me up about them is that they ALL dress alike & think they're being "original". The thick shoes/boots w/ eitehr tons of straps or laces, the plaid gear, dyed hair, extreme make-up, death jewelry, etc etc...

I don't know why are society is so obsessed with putting a label on people.. I feel it's fine and if that is how someone wants to express themselves great for them.

labels are for products that sit on store shelves waiting to be bought...and then they realize that some of the products wont sell with a certain label, so they gotta slap a different one on em and hope someone might want them

I think it is sad to label yourself or anyone else. A person is a person. Don't like labels.
