Martin Brodeur has a chance, as well as Sidney Crosby. He probably is not as long a shot as you think he is. He is currently leading the NHL in scoring and is by far the best player on the Penguins. Now, you can say that he has a good supporting cast of forwards around him with Malkin, Recchi and Staal, all of which are talented players, but he is the face of that franchise, and is showing it so far with two seasons as their leading scorer. Lecavalier is having an outstanding year in Tampa, and should be an MVP candidate, though I would probably end up choosing someone from out West as the third candidate, such as Teemu Selanne or, a long shot though he won it last year, Joe Thornton. Luongo could get some recognition there as well, but he is probably more suited for the Vezina, though he has almost single-handedly got the Canucks to the top of their division. There is a plethora of choices for this award. Don't be too surprised if any one of these guys gets it in the end.

We got a tough one this year. Sidney Crosby racking up the Assists and Points and Martin Brodeur racking up the Shutouts and Wins. I would have to say one of these guys would win it. There are others like Lecavalier, Briere, St. Louis, and Joe Thornton that have awesome years, but Sid and Marty must have the most incredible stats. On one side, there's Crosby, who has 15 or so more points than anyone else in the league. This guy is definately the best offensive threat in the league and that deserves a Hart Trophy nomination, obviously. Then there's Brodeur, the defensive threat. He leads in two major goalie statistics with the most shutouts and the most wins. He is also 2nd in Goals Against Average and Save Percentage. He is basically having his best season ever, and that's saying a lot since this guy is a future Hall of Famer before this year even started. He is on pace to have the most wins ever by a goaltender in one season as well as the most shutouts. He is no doubt going to win the Vezina (Best Goaltender) and hopefully the Jennings (Least Goals Allowed) Trophies. Therefore, in my opinion, Brodeur should get the Hart this year for his awesome gameplay that is incomparable to any other goalie this year. Marty should get the Hart Trophy if everything stays the way it is. Sidney will win it some other year, for goodness sake he's the future of the NHL! However, again, Martin Brodeur should take the MVP award this year.

He shouldn't. Nicklas Backstrom is a few distance more suitable positive than Ovechkin and has rather a lot as many factors. also save in mind that the Caps gained 7 of the ten video games Ovechkin ignored and were given a level in 8 of those video games. additionally they scored more suitable aims without him. The stats obviously coach he's not even the MVP on his on team now to not coach the NHL MVP. The Pens have a threat to repeat on condition that they do no longer could play the Devils or the Caps contained in the 2d round. because the playoffs flow on the Devils and the Caps receives drained and that can help you the Pens. yet when luck isn't contained in the Pens want then I ould say the Devils will flow to the Cup and both play the Balckhawks or the Kings.

As much as I hate Brodeur I think he should win the MVP. Being a Pens fan I want Crosby to win it or even Malkin. But Brodeur is having a great season

I'm curious as to why you think Crosby is a long shot? He has a pretty healthy lead in the scoring race and that's usually all it takes. Goaltenders (rightly or wrongly) usually have to have more outstanding seasons because they can win the Vezina anyway. Lecavalier....I doubt it.
Personally I would pick Brodeur (he has an otherwise very average team near the top of the league) but I think it will be Crosby.

I'd pick Martin Brodeur as my winner of the Hart Trophy (MVP) cause he's the reason y they r in contention for the cup every single year, no matter how many guys they lose, he makes the new 1's way overrated and lets up only 2.1 GAA, and has twice as many shutouts as every other Goalie in the NHL, and leads NHL in Wins and 2nd in Save %, so I'd definately pick Brodeur for the Hart Trophy, but probably the voters will be stupid and pick Sid Crosby just cause he leads the NHL in Points and they all hope he can be the next Gretzky, so he'll get MVP even though he's on a shitty team who is 5th in the East, and if they were in West they'd be tied for 8th
"p.s. now I know why the guys username below me is clueless" cause he doesn't know what the hell he's sayin to explain his opinion

I think that Crosby should win the MVP. He is carrying a young and inexperienced team and has helped bring out the better in the espescially young teammates like staal and malkin. He is a skilled passer and makes his team better as soon as he steps on the ice.
It wont be Lecavalier because he has st louis, broduer has an exceptional defense around him and doesnt make any saves. The only other guy that stands a chance is luongo. If he doesnt win he will surely be most improved. He stops at least 35 saves every night and has basically kept his team alive this whole season. I think it will come down to those two.

Martin Brodeur without a doubt. 12 Shutouts, might break the single season wins record as well. What he's been doing this season is incredible.

somebody said malkin? rookie of the year most definatly but mvp....in your dreams. but i'd say marty brodeur. he already has a record breaking year (literally) and he still has one more record to break this year...most wins in a season. he is definatly the most valuable player. i bet the pens coach would trade crosby and malkin in a heart beat if he had a shot at brodeur

you're crazy not to think sid the kid cuz he's help turn around the worst team in the nhl and take them to the playoffs this year how often does that happen. and to you that think that he gets talked about too much you don't watch him play. he's incredible. he leaves guys who are way bigger than him trying to figure out where he got to he's the best in the east if not the whole nhl
