Try looking up your state's Department of Health and Human Services or whatever department offers Medicaid, Food Stamps, etc in your state. You will probably find information on grants and other types of assistance there are out there. In Texas we have a grant called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (or TANF). Maybe they have something similar in Illinois.

I hope this helps. Good Luck!!!

yeah, let me know if you find any of that money on trees ok? we could use some.
Oh, and you don't really need a laptop for online classes you know... a desktop costs a whole lot less and it will get you online just fine. If you join freecycle, you might find a computer for free.
yeah, I'd like a laptop too, and a grant to study the effects of beer on braincells, but $ don't grow on trees.

look for a used cheap one on ebay, they are muuuch more cheap, you probably could cut it with a Pentium III laptop and 256 (512 if possible) of RAM memory. You can get extra money doing secret shopper gigs, it is really easy and will get you what you need.
