If this was my team I would rather look for a new second baseman on the waivers than move Ryan Howard. Both players are good, but they are not enough to compensate for what you lose by getting rid of Howard.
Anytime you can get this much productivity from one player (Howard) it is best to keep him rather than fill in at two positions.
Figgins will only really help in stolen bases. That is probably the most over-rated stat in fantasy baseball when a player is good for only that. If this was real, I'd like Figgins' versatility, but he does not offer anything aside from steals.
First basemen are generally the most productive fantasy hitters. Keep both, play one at the Utility position, one at first.

It seems to be a smart trade. Bay is one of the best young players in baseball. He will get you At least 30 HR's and gets near or over 100 Runs and RBI's annually.Howard will get you a whole ton of Homers, and RBI's, but he will als make errors. Figgins is also a good player, and is worth giving up Howard. I would go for it.

It would help if I knew who the 1B reserve was to replace Howard.
That said, unless that reserve is Ortiz (or similar), I can't see doing this trade. The Figgins/Bay combo will likely lose you HR, RBI and average and only increase your SB total.
NOTE: I wouldn't be too down on Phillips as your 2B.

No way. You are giving up too much for the return. I'd look to trade your good reserve 1B if you need help but definitely not Howard. OF is packed with quality so you can score by trading your reserve and keeping Howard.

Do it but see if you could possibly get more. Always trade a player when his stock is the highest and right now it is the highest it may ever be. I think that pitchers will pitch around him more. He will have 45 homers at most this year while bay will have 35 to 40 plus around 20 stolen bases.

well, first that is a dumb trade but not really if you have a great back up first baseman. But chone figgins dosent hit the home runs and homeruns are more points then stolen bases. so if you do have an other elite first baseman then accept it but if not don't.

I'll make the trade. I'll take Ryan from you and give the few points those two will give back away.
