I consider myself an average American and I don't think the Iraq conflict will be resolved in the U.S. favor because it was started based on "faulty intelligence". There were no WMDs found. Then when that happened, they changed the reason to spreading democracy. Nobody asked us to invade and remove Saddam Hussein from power. What the U.S. is trying to do is not a noble endeavor. We cannot force democracy on any country. Especially when our own is questionable. We are in the wrong in all aspects of the invasion and occupation of Iraq. If someone came to the U.S. and did what we did, don't you think that there would be insurgents going against whoever was here?

I can't speak for the "average American", but as for the above-average let me say that if America is not defeated in Iraq, the democrat party is toast.
