It would be best to take her to the doctor, they need to use a scope to look inside the ear to see if there is inflammation. It's very possible that your daughter has an ear infection, but with children so young, it's hard to tell, there are a myriad of things which can make her cry....teething, upset stomach, hunger, tired, bored and so on. If you think she has an ear infection, I suggest a doctor visit.

It could be an ear infection, but most likely she is trying to cut some teeth. Teeth can put tremendous pressure on the ears and can feel like an ear infection but not be. Ear infections usually produce a runny nose, extreme irritability - especially at night, sometimes a fever. If she doesn't stop being fussy in the next couple of days, I would take her to see her Dr. because it is always better to be safe than to let your little one suffer.

The ears can fill up with fluid when the baby is teething.

My daughter would almost always have a runny nose when her teeth would be coming in.

Sometimes they teethe and you cannot even see a sign of the tooth coming in. And then when you least expect it -- a little white, curly pearly would have cut through the gumline.

Look at the bottom gums for the first teeth. I wouldn't doubt if in a couple of days you see a sign of the tooth.

If not, perhaps a doctor visit for the ear.

i've got not got slightly one yet yet we've one due in August yet i've got been an toddler instructor on and rancid for the previous 4 years and countless the main common issues i've got observed is pulling at thier ears, crying while being laid down, (the stress of gravity makes it harm) no longer sound asleep on a definite component, and standard crankiness... yet toddlers can exhibit any of those and not have an ear an infection so that's fairly puzzling to assert. If it seems purple in or around the ear, then there's a somewhat solid danger-until that's a midsection ear infections. desire this helps! playstation : attractive toddler with the help of how!

my daughter has had so many of these that i know right off if she has one. you wont be able to see the redness in her ears unless if you have one of those things doctors use to look in ears. but, you will notice that if she goes from an upright position to a laying down position she will get fussy, she will tug at her ears, and she may get a fever. if her ears were popped, and she was fussy that doesnt necessarily mean she has an ear infection, popped ears can be very uncomfortable, especially if you dont understand what is causing it. has she had a runny nose lately? that can trigger an ear infection. if she has had a runny nose, i would take her to the doctor to get checked out.

Take her to the doctor.

As they get older, they become more aware of their surroundings and start developing a personality...her fussyness may simply be that she has learned to express herself. My son is 4 months old and he has recently become more vocal about his likes and dislikes..

She may have an ear infection
She may be teething
She may just be expressing herself with her new developing abilities.

Only the doctor can look in that ear and verify signs on infection.

Take her to the Doctor , sounds like it could very well be ear infection, dont wait for fever in the middle of the night, those are never fun.

She will tug on her ear and cry if she has an ear infection. If she's not coordinated enough to tug on her ears, she will scatch her face under her ear and cry. So if she does either of the two, she more than likely has an ear infection. Take her to the doctor and take her soon.

I noticed my son acting as though he had an ear infection, however it turned out to be his bottom teeth coming is. Low grade fever, cranky-ness in a normally lovely child, a little drooling...but I wouldn't hesitate to take the baby in to the pediatrician, just to be on the safe side...
