comet and a scouring pad will get the soles extremely white. Like new even. The leather upper is a little more difficult. Try shout and then the washer. Or a toothbrush and liquid dishwasher soap. Both work great.

If they are white leather, use whitewall tire cleaner, spray them outside on newspaper or something, let sit for a few minutes then wipe with a paper towel or rag, just be careful, it's a bleaching product, so make sure they are rinsed good and completely dry before going back in the house.

Throw them in the washing machine on warm (not hot, they'll shrink). Use regular clothes detergent, with a bleach alternative, if you've got it. Put them on a window sill to dry. I do it all the time. The come out great!

I swear by the Mr. Clean magic eraser. Cheap & makes them look like new. And you don't have to get the shoes wet. No chance of shrinking.

Liquid dishwasher soap (Cascade) and an old toothbrush. I do this for my white tennis shoes and they look like brand new.
