hi everyone.
for the past few month i have been vomiting a week before my period. i came off the implant contraceptive a year and a half ago and now my periods are all over the place, i am also trying for a baby (for the past year and a half) does anyone else suffer from this and does anyone know what it is and if there is a way of curing it? it has only been happening for the past six months or so, and always starts a week before and lasts for the whole week before my period.
please help if you can, any ideas would be very much appreciated.
thanx.

You need to be seen by an ob/gyn specifically to check for endometriosis- a non-cancerous overgrowth of the endometrial (womb) tissue that can be completely without symptoms, or cause the ones you mention-including infertility.
If that is ruled out, then as long as regular medicine has no help (or in addition to a diagnoses), I would certainly look into alternative medicines.
A homeopath, naturopath, etc.
You need a thyroid test too.
Coming off of contraceptives is so rough for so many- the one thing that is left out of all those happy little TV ads for them.
Hope you get some answers & are feeling better soon, and saying a prayer for that to happen too!

I sometimes get a bit of an upset tummy around this time of the month - I can feel nauseous but have never actually been sick. However, I do know a couple of friends that have been physically sick. The best thing to do is to pop along to your family planning clinic or family doctor. Have you spoken to the doc about trying for a baby for one and half years too?

I always vomit 2 days before and 2 days during my period. I have painful periods and have always known when I was due because of the nausea and vomitting. It is something I have learnt to live with and doctors have always said was a change of hormones at the beginning of menstruation. I find a camomile tea or peppermints settle my stomach slightly, but I still vomit. I have just had a coil fitted due to my heavy painful periods but am still experiencing the pain and nausea/vomitting. Even if you put a stick of cinnamon in your tea with very little or no milk it settles your stomach too. I tend to use natural remedies and not indigestion tablets/liquid.

When I had periods many years ago when young I used to get sick and my daughter does also best thing is if you have some rich tea or arrowroot biscuits and nibble one you may feel sick but won't get sick, it worked for me and my daughter. I'm 49 ha I sound like an old codger. Although get it checked out.

aww bless you, best thing to do is to go and see your doctor, no-one else can give you certain information over the internet really unless they were doctors themsleves, see him as soon as you can dear! it could be minor, could be major, but im sure its nothing too bad, good luck :-)
