I still have an extended warranty at Staples, where I got it, but I don't think it covers losing things!

You might need a new one...

Hopefully, next time you have a PDA, you'll go to security settings in preferences, assign a password, and set it to automatically lock at a certain time. Also, go to owner in preferences and put in your name and contact information so you could get it back. You might even want to encrypt what's on your PDA

No it doesn't cover losing the product, only manufactors defects. You should IMMEDIATELY cancel any kind of credit cards or banking that you had on your PDA! Also, if you had anyone else's information... ex... phone number or birthday... let them know so that they can take what ever precautionary messures that they need to!
