Rub the pocket with vegetable oil. Place a softball in the pocket and tie the glove with the ball i pocket with string. Tomorrow, remove the ball, reapply the oil. Then retie the glove with ball in it..

Do that procedure for the next couple of days and the glove will be all set for your fantastic fielding plays!

Now you will open up a can of worms... Everyone will have an opinion on this one and they will all be different.
You will hear about tying it up and sleeping on it.. Glove oil theories... But oil your glove using a mink oil or glove oil the brand doesn't really matter - I even had friend that used peanut butter, what a mess. Use a small amount of oil, don't saturate the glove. Use the oil in the hinge area only. Then put a ball in the glove and tie the glove up with shoestring, rubber bands a belt - whatever. Leave it for a day or so. The best way to get it in shape after that is to play with it. Visit a batting cage and instead of batting, use the machine to catch balls and help break in the glove. When you think you have broken the glove - play catch with a tennis ball. This will help you with squeezing the glove shut and when you start catching tennis balls with ease and not have it bounce out of your glove, you know you have broken it in.

A glove is an extension of your hand. And everyone is different, this will give you an idea of how to loosen the glove up a little. But breaking it in is really about making it feel right in YOUR hand when you catch a ball.

Put some oil into the inside of the palm on the leather. Then put a baseball or softball inside the glove and tie it together real tight.

don't use oil; it makes the glove heavy.
Put a softball in it, wrap it around the ball, and use bungee cords to hold it fast. The next day, take the ball out and run over the glove a few times with your car...That's what I do with all my new baseball gloves...

"Saddle Soap", you can find it at the store next to the shoe polish. Rub it in your glove, then put a softball in the pocket, tie it up with a shoe lace and put it under a mattress for a few hours. repeat for 2-3 days.
