There weren't enough jurors to choose from so I asked for my traffic ticket case to be either dismissed or mis-trialed. The Asst. DA said no way and said it wasn't her fault that not all the jurors showed up for the trial and that if I didn't like the ones there was, I could go out and find my own.

I would have asked to see the judge, it is not normal for a person to have trail by jury for a traffic case, unless it involves a deaths or major damage. In either case a jury is selected by both sides the DA side and the defense side. If all is stated in your question you need to talk to the judge at the very least or get yourself a lawyer. You should have asked that the judge dismiss those that were there, and ask to bring in another group to choose from. As a point of information It isn't up to the DA to provide jurors but it is the courts job

I wouldn't know, never had a misdemeanor offense tried through a jury, especially not some minor traffic offense... That is, unless it wasn't so minor, in which case it explains the DA's attitude.

And no, I'm pretty sure the DA was just letting off steam, I don't think you can pick all your own jurors but it goes beyond what I know here.

You should have taken the D.A. up on the offer and brought a bunch of your buds.
