Same thing as goosebumps. When you get cold your skin pulls itself together to cause hair to stand up and provide better insulation. Just like the scroutm contracts in cold water, the breast does, but the skin of the nipple is soft, so it stretches over the tissue below it, becoming erect.

I have wondered the same thing. I would guess when your cold, its kinda like goose bumps. They just feel the cold and react.
When i first get in the shower they do that too. I will check back to see what others say. :-) sorry u are bored.

lol, I know what you mean. It's like they have a mind of their own. Mine do that too, it's cold they are hard, and sometimes it either feels good, or I get this tingly feeling. Then when I push them in, it's a struggle, lol. They'll go in, but come out again.
