I don't know if everyone will believe this, but hopefully you will because I am honestly telling the truth.
I was at the McDonald's drive thru today, and I asked for the quarter pounder meal. I got to the first window, paid, and then went on to the second. There was another car in front of me. The drive thru employee gave them their order. The car didn't move on, but instead they gave the meal back to the employee. After a couple seconds, they gave them a new meal. The car drove on.
I went on to get my order, and they handed it to me. When I got home, I opened the box that had the burger in inside ... it was half eaten. I threw the burger out because there is no way I would eat that. The only logical explanation for it that I can think of, is that the person in front of me was accidentally given my order, and they took a bite out of it and realized it was not what they wanted. Do you think I should have taken it back? I am sure they wouldn't have believe me if I did.

Take it back and ask to see the manager. See if you can get both a refund and a new sandwich.

I believe you. Once my nephew ordered something from McDonalds drive-thru and didn't open the container right away. Several miles down the road when he finally opened it there was a half eaten fish sandwich and a few fries in there! EWWWW....they were on the road at the time and too far gone to turn around and take it back. I can't say what they would have done if you'd taken it back, but they are probably supposed to make sure the customer is satisfied whether they actually believe you or not. But, I think if you'd asked to speak to the manager and calmly explained what happened they would have probably believed you.

I work at McDonald's. Let me tell you that I believe you, even though if food goes out the window, it has to be thrown away, not everyone follows the rules. Now, about taking it back. We get so many complaints like that
I.E. a customer walks in at 8pm.. goes to the manager and says that she ordered food at around 11am and the order was wrong and they gave her cold fries and cold meat. She demanded them to replace her order at that time (8pm)... This is a true story, now, are you going to believe that?
Another example is a guy came to the drive through and ordered a double fish fillet sandwich opproxametly 1pm. Comes back at around 6pm and says they only gave him a single fish fillet sandwich and he didn't save his reciet and that he only save a small corner that was smaller then two inches. True story.. are you going to believe that?
I'm not saying all the customers are lieing, but why else would they wait so long. That's why you should always park and check your food. I encourage that a lot. That's probably why they wouldn't believe you, because you had enough time to eat it. It's actually hard making those decisions. Trust me, the two examples above, I was working when the people tried that.. and let me tell you, they only wanted free food at dinner time.

That's disgusting! I always check my bag before I drive off; you should have done the same, especially after you saw the car ahead of you give their order back. If I were you I would have taken it back and complained to the manager. There is no excuse for them giving you a half-eaten burger. If they don't believe you, tell them you'll never do business there again and that you'll tell all your friends about it; they just might give you a free burger rather than losing customers.

I never ever leave a drive thru w/o checking my food first - it's too easy for them to screw it up! I would have taken the sandwich back and demanded and new one, and your money back! That's disgusting! Technically once an order is handed out and given back for whatever reason they have to throw it away and make a new order - it's unsanitary to hand out food that's been handed out once already.

You absolutely should have emailed or called they're corporate office. The fact that the person at the window didn't double check your order (obviously he didn't check the customer before you), means they weren't doing your job. I recieved a taco from Taco Bell half eaten before. I was in the restaurant. They didn't want to believe me. Uh..why would I want to take back 79 cent taco? Because you bit into it!!!! Fight it!!!

I do believe you!!! Yes, you should have gone right back & told them what happened. It would still have been fresh in their minds. You paid for your meal, & need to still go back, with receipt in hand. Hopefully, they will make it right with you. I have gotten home & been shorted food many times, so now, I check my bag before pulling away. Maybe you'll have to start doing that too. Have a nice day!

So you aren't one of those people who check what's in their bag before they leave the drive-thru window, huh? Live and learn!
Best case scenario would have been to check it and give the food back right then!
I think I would have driven back to the store and showed them what they gave me, but I guess that would depend on how far away you live.
Check next time, k?
