This may seem as non-sense. But sometimes when I watch those war movies, I feel that things make sense and they happen for a reason. People try to avoid death and when they are alive, they live.
On the other hand, in times of peace, there are lots of meaningless things; like people taking drugs, abusing eachother, mistreating their kids and acting like jerks.
I don't know. This maybe all non-sense as I said before.

Yes. My whole life was altered and i praise GOD it was. I now have a real relationship with my wife and kids i never had before.

it is certainly more likely to produce a sense of awareness of immediacy and consequence, whereas in "peace" it may be easy to dwell in one's own little world and tune out stimuli one does not want to deal with.

I would suggest there are other routes to similar states of awareness, although they may take more personal effort to achieve.
