I'm looking for some comfortable full brief cotton knickers that are high at the waist, low at the leg, aren't too tight and aren't too loose? Any brand or shop you would recommend in the UK? They don't have to be pretty but must be mostly cotton.

I always find the elastic is digging in me and it's not good when your tummy is already sore...

" Sloggi "are great, not the cheapest on the market, but cotton, close fitting and comfy, come in variety of styles.

Primark do loads and loads of pants like that, they're only £1.50 each so you can buy loads. But wouldn't it be better to use old pants once they start getting a bit tired rather than have ones specifically for your period? Seems a bit silly to buy new ones that may well just get ruined.
I don't mean use ones that are saggy and that the elastic's gone on!!, just once they're a bit old that's all. I'm suggesting this because I don't know anyone who buys pants specifically for their period- everyone I know including me uses what they call their 'back of the drawer' pants ie the ones that are still wearable but are either old-fashioned, unflattering or gone shapeless. They just go in the bin otherwise which is wasteful. I'd rather spend my money on nice new sexy pants than ones I know I will ruin, although I suppose, assuming you have a really light flow, I can see why you would want to wear pretty ones on your period so you wouldn't risk ruining them.

Do you not like tampons then? if you haven't tried them - do so, they are so much more hygienic, easier, cleaner etc. If you really prefer sanitory towels, try Marks and Spencer for pants. You can't go wrong. Honestly. They are the best.

As a man I'm not embarassed to buy sanitary products for a woman.
But apparently, they're not a "proper present".....
