It's easier to create false memories if you're struggling with some sort of problem that you're trying to find an answer to. If you're going through some sort of struggle and really want to overcome it, then either telling yourself lies until you believe that they're true, or perhaps a therapist or someone else implanting suggestions into your mind can actually make you believe that these false memories really did happen.

This happened at a day care center whose children said they had been sexually abused. These day care providers fought in court until some of them were sick. The children were questioned (given answers) by social workers before it was discovered that open ended questions are the best. These kids all recanted their testimony's but the day care center never opened again. This is a classic example of suggestion and imagination.

well sure. If you train you mind often then it is very possible to create false memories. some people tell the same lie over and over until they end up believing it themselves and I'm sure it feels as though it really happened.
