I would put it into a mesh bag for delicates just to be on the safe side. I've had a few that seams had not been sewn tight and the stuffing was a nightmare to get out the washer. I always put them in cold water, using a delicate detergent like woolite and watch them carefully in the spin cycle, as that is where they will likely fall apart or their fur pills. (Peek in on the little guy every couple of minutes, feel to see if enough water has been squeezed out of him and if it has, stop the cycle.) I usually put mine on a medium dryer setting and place him on the rack letting the drum spin around him until he is almost dry. Then I let him tumble to fluff up the stuffing for the last 15 minutes or so.

I wouldn't take a chance with it, my friend did that with a stuffed raccoon and all the stuffing came out, it cost her 69.00dollars to get the washing machine fixed. If you have a mesh bag, you can put the bear in it, and then toss it in the machine, on delicate and see if that works, at least if it comes apart it will be in the bag and not all over.

Just to be safe,,so that no little eyes or bows or stuff fall off, put your stuffed animals into a pillow case and tie a knot in the end of it. Then put it in the washer. I've never ruined one this way.

Yes its fine to wash them. I've washed a number of stuffed animals before. Wash in cold or warm water and I would not use an extra heavy wash cycle. And you can dry in the drier.
