According to the research, one of Obama's great-great-great-great grandfathers, George Washington Overall, owned two slaves who were recorded in the 1850 census in Nelson County, Ky. The same records show that one of Obama's great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers, Mary Duvall, also owned two slaves.
The Sun retraced much of Reitwiesner's work, using census information available on the Web site ancestry.com and documents retrieved by the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, among other sources. The records show that Overall, then 30, owned a 15-year-old black female and a 25-year-old black male, while Mary Duvall, his mother-in-law, owned a 60-year-old black man and a 58-year-old black woman. (Slaves are listed in the 1850 census by owner, age, "sex," and "colour," not by name.)
An Obama spokesman did not dispute the information and said that the senator's ancestors "are representative of America."

He should have to pay reparations, to himself. That way, not only will he feel the wrath of the long downtrodden and exploited, he will also benefit from having been dowwntrodden and exploited. Its the best of both worlds, and it sure will score points with the democratic voters!

sure and that i pick reparations for each of the lies almost each flesh presser has advised us for the perfect 2 hundred years too! i pick reparations and an apology from a Congress that for over 40 years has embraced small vocal minorities on the price of the numerous! From Environmentalists to unlawful immigration communities, gays, feminists, blacks etc etc! Who will pay for all this? WE do they benefit we lose!

No reparations ever!!!! Don't punish me for what Americans did 200 years before I was born. Don't care about any arguements regarding this topic, it will only destroy what little we have acheived in regards to race relations in this country.

im taking the high road on this one. im a goper and whatever happened 200 yrs ago couldnt be helped by obama. i dont think anybody should get a dime unless they were slaves themselves.

I think he will end up getting reparations if they are ever paid. What is right and decent never factored into Democratic decisions.
