How long can a friendship last between work and school and what makes a good friend??

My grandmother had a girlfriend from the 2nd grade until her friend died at the age of 72.
The went through school, college, marriage, jobs, children and widowhood together.
A good friend is someone who's there for you and wants only the best things for you.

A friendship can last as long as you want even between work and school as long you respect one another . A good friend is someone you can talk to about anything and they will listen and not judge you and you can share together . They will be there for you in good times and bad times . Real good friends are hard to come by and I would hang on to that friendship and who knows to what it develop into . Good luck and have a nice day

a friendship can last a lifetime...if you don't speak with an old friend for years because of work and school, yet one day you run into them and start back up from where you left off years ago then you know that that friendship will always last...its all based on time, you really will not know what makes a good friend and you wont know how long your friendship will last until the future comes years from now

Not sure if you are talking about a boy and girl thing or really just a best friend. I would say a true best friend will last forever....neither time, nor distance, nor changing jobs, etc. will change it....and you may be away from each other for long periods of time, and no matter what you will try to stay in touch, and when you do get together its like you are still the same friends you always were.....
A true friend knows you thru and thru....likes you for who you are, weak points and all, is there for you, will never betray your secrets to others, respects how you feel about things even when you don't agree with them, and you know that person will always be there for you in good times and in bad.
They will be honest with you as well.

Friendships can last a lifetime. It like anything else their nurtured and valued.
Being a good friend means to be there for that other person. Be it on the phone, Internet in person on text. Be caring and concerned about your friends, if they need you to listen or help the out with something, do it if at all possible.
Just care, listen make efforts to see them reach out to them. These a things good friendships are made of.

Really good and LASTING FRIENDS are extremely difficult to acquire. Actually you don't just go out and get them. You have to meet many people and then DEVELOP friendships with those you THINK might make good friends. After that you have to continually NURTURE those friendships and finally at the end of your life you may end up with one or two really TRUE FRIENDS. Good Luck on your journey.

If it is real friendship than it can last forever. A real friend knows, listens, is prepared to help out. Friendship can be maintained by keeping contact from both sides. One-sided friendship doesn't last.

a good friend is someone who is there for you when you are feeling sad or laughs at things you think are funny and some other people dont.Friends are people who stick up for you when somuone is bothering you. As for a friendship, if this person is a good friend and they want to keep your friendship going then it can go on until you die or if you both go to heaven then the friendship can last forever.And for you and your friend i hope your friendship does go on well atleast if you want it to and hopefully you both do go to heaven.

Friendship can last a lifetime, but its like anything else - if you don't take care of it, you will lose it.
a good friend is someone who always supports you, has the guts to stand up and tell you when you are wrong, and is someone who can make you laugh so hard drinks come out your nose
