Will my pc games look distorted, stretched, or have bad performance or quality? Im running it on my 1080p monitor. I have a Intel Duo 2.66 and a NVIDIA 8800GTX. Some people have told me that their will be quality issues?

There are a lot of games that support widescreen resolutions... Half-Life 2 for instance, you just go into your video options and select widescreen.

Other games like BF2 / 2142 do not really support widescreen, but you can make adjustments to your desktop icon and force it to load in something like 1900x1650 or whatever your monitor likes.

Then there are other games that do not support it at all so things will look stretched and squished.

It's a shame that any game released in this day and age that doesn't have widescreen support. EA/Dice in the case of BF2 says it gives an unfair advantage over players stuck in a 4x3 type resolution... because you have a greater field of view. I think that's just an excuse for lazy programming :)
