Succeeded at failing...which is actually failing to succeed...which is again succeeding at failure...which is I suppose better than succeeding at nothing or failing at everything.

you succeed because your definition of success would actually be to fail, and you do fail, so you succeed.

If my interpretation of your question is right: If your intent was to fail, yet you succeeded, how would you describe the result?
My answer would be that, logically speaking, "you failed to fail."

the question is ambiguous so it needs to be further clarified.

if your plan was to fail something x, and you succeeded in failing at x, then you have succeeded in your plan

if your plan was to fail something x, but you did not fail x, instead you succeeded at x, then you have failed in your plan

either way one can say you tried to fail, and succeeded. hence the ambiguity in the original question.

In a essence you set yourself up to fail, so you succeeded in that in which you set yourself up for.
