How do you know.
You might think your dialing the right number and when it's engaged you have no way of telling it was the wrong number cos no one answered to tell you.

It's all part of BT's desire to make you annoyed. British Telecom do also have a rude noise specifically to direct at people who dial wrong numbers which sounds like Da Da Da.
They also have an extremely rude woman who tells me "you have dialled a wrong number", when I know I have dialled correctly.
