don't worry, I used to not understand what a squareroot was either

2^2 = 4..... so the sqrt of 4 is 2
3^2 = 9......so the sqrt of 9 is 3
9^2 = 81....so the sqrt of 81 is 9

hope this helps

To square a problem, you multiply it by itself. For example, 2 squared is 4(2*2=4), 3 squared is 9(3*3=9), and 4 squared is 16(4*4=16). The square root is just opposite. The square root of 4 is 2. The square root of 9 is 3. The square root of 16 is 4. There is no simple way to remeber this, which is why many calculators come with a square root button.

It would help to know what confuses you, in specific. Well, try these:

1) The square root is the number that, when multiplied by itself, gives you what you started with. For instance, sqrt(9) = 3, because 3 times itself gives you 9. sqrt(25) = 5, because 5 times itself gives you 25. And so on.

2) The square root "undoes" the square - in other words, it's the opposite of squaring something. 3^2 = 9, so sqrt(9) = 3

5^2 = 25, so sqrt(25) = 5

Those two are about the best I can do without more specifics.

Well first square root is where you basically are trying to figure out which two alike numbers are going to equal the number lie the square root of 64 is 8 and the square root of 144 is 12 and square root of 121 is 11 and the easiest way to do it is to get a scientific calculator automatically gives you the square root easy as phi.(Advanced anatomy term sorry)

Well, if you have a scientific calculator, my advice will be much easier; but if you don't then it's okay. Square roots are what is squared, or taken times itself. The square root of 36 is 6 because 6 squared (the little two) is 36. If you give the problem to me by additional details, I can help you more.

example: the square root of 9 is 3 because 3 x itself or 3x3=9. Square root is just a stupid word which applies to the number multiplied by itself. focus on the numbers. I am so dumb in math this is the best I can do. I hope it helps.

Square root is stuff like this...
Sq root of 4 = 2

2 X 2 = 4

Basically, when you sqaure root a number, like 9, or 16, you get a number that is equivalence to it multiplied to itself.

Like
Sqaure root of 16 = 4.
4 times 4 is 16..

4 is multiplied to itself to get the square of 4, and

Ok. Its really quite simple...

If you multiply two of the same number, its called squaring them. For example, saying "5 squared" is the same as 5 x 5, or 25

The square root is just the opposite. For example, the square root of 25 is 5.

The square root is the number, that when muliplied by itself gives you the original number. Make sense?

square root is just the opposite of square-ing a number. like...

3*3 = 3^2 = 9
so...
sqrt(9) = sqrt(3^2) = sqrt(3*3) = 3

i hope that helps a little...
