Why is nature referred to as Mother nature and Time referred to as Father Time?

i say it's because nature (weather etc.) is very unpredictable, just as women have been labled... and father time???maybe because most women (including myself) will be late for their own funerals..lol...

Because women give birth and men just time the contractions.
