Buy a Clymers or Chiltons. It will have the torque for all the bolts and a whole lot of other info you'll need if you're going to wrench your own ride.

There is a maximum torque setting for every size of bolt and you can get the figures from bolt manufactures or engineering reference books. I do not think that shocks need to be `torqued' as you put it but the nuts do need to be tightened well and have some form of locking to prevent them coming loose. On my car the nuts are the Simmons locking type.
