No, because I had a horrible childhood and both my brother and I have never used drugs and are educated, law abiding productive citizens.

No there is no excuse. You have choices in life it is up to you the choices you make good or bad! Those cute little stars had everything handed to them and when they were bored most of them tried the drugs and got hooked. They never thought anyone would know & they never believed they would get into trouble.

I had a horrible childhood very abusive!!!! I do not do drugs!!!

Well Drew Barrymore had a hard childhood and she used drugs as a young child through her teenage years and then got completely out of it as an adult and seems to be doing really well.

Brittney Spears had a great childhood with two loving parents that constantly praised her for working hard and doing her best and stuff and she's screwed up now so whose to say what causes a person to become a drug addict. Sometimes it's peer pressure sometimes it's a hard life, sometimes it's just being an idiot and wanting to be like all the rest.

No, being older the individual needs to be responsible for their own actions. Whatever horrible thing happened in the person 's childhood the individual should see it as something to make them stronger and use their hurtful experience in a positive way by helping others that are going through the same thing.

I think it is a sorry excuse for doing drugs. There are all kinds of people that have had awful childhoods, but didn't turn to drugs or alcohol. I have done those sorts of things before, but, I was lucky enough to learn my lesson early. I hate to be around that sort of thing anymore. And yes, I had a great childhood.

They did not have a horrible childhood. They had a pampered childhood. There is a big difference.
When celebrity children can have anything they want and there are people out there willing to do anything they say, then trouble is bound to follow. They think the rules don't apply to them and the world will come crashing down on them.

No it's not an excuse. Lots of people have had horrible childhoods but they did not resort to using drugs. I think it's more peer pressure, low self-esteem & thinking it will make you cool or curiousity. Whatever the reason, it is never a good idea to use drugs.

No I don't think it's a good excuse. I think that everyone
has choices: do I get out of bed or roll over?
do I take drugs or not?
do I party all the time or stay home renting movies?
Everyone is responsible for their actions.

NO i get so sick and tired of people who do wrong things ( crime/drugs) blaming it on the poor bad childhood or their parents. get real adults have a mind to think for themselves you have no one to blame but yourself.. just because you had a bad childhood is no reason to continue with bad stuff after you are an adult, change the cycle of life do better than your parents did.
