Jimmy Rollins says the Phils are the team to beat in the NL East and all their fans are talking like they've won the last 5 World Series. Only problem, it's what you do and not what you say. Everytime in recent years there have been high expectations for the Phils, there have been lesser results. The Mets easily won the NL East last year and still have a great lineup. In my opinion to suggest that anyone other than the Mets are the favorite in the NL East is ludicrous? What do you think?

The Mets are the team to beat b/c they won it last year, the Phillies will fall short again. They won't win the Wild Card either.

The Mets should be able to win their division.
Howard might go into a sophmore slump.... plus their bullpen isnt as deep as the mets, neither is their lineup.
The Phillies starting rotation is a bit better then the Mets, but Myers is overrated and bringing in Garcia won't help too much as he will be prone to giving up the long ball a good bit more then he already does, which is a lot.
It will be an interesting year.

Well, they have a solid linup. They have Home Run leader Ryan Howard, the best hitting second baseman and Jimmy Rollins is decent. Adding Freddy Garcia to their rotation will help them a lot. The question is, will the team gel and everything will come together? They could give the Mets a run for their money.

yes. The Phillies have to get past the mets and braves. for a team like the phillies, that's not an easy thing to do. the pitching staff with those 2 teams are quite good

yes... they still have to perform during the long 162 game grueling baseball season.
not to mention they still have to beat the mets and braves, who have 1 of the top 5 pitching staffs in the league.
we'll just have to wait and see but i see them finishing in 3rd after the braves and mets.
