No, but I mean...there was a guy (or actually several)...and he would just pick up facts like it was nothing. He wouldn't have to study, he'd do great on a test... I mean, HOW?

They're taught by their families that education and hard work are good things. They're also taught to respect and listen to elders.

If you're around them a lot, you notice that the "Americanized" foreign kids tend to do worse because they pick up bad habits.

lol im not sure what u mean by foreign, u could mean immigrated, second generation (or 3rd, 4th) that just look ethnically different, or ones who are visiting as a student (with a student visa). I am a korean, my parents immigrated to Canada when i was young, and i know koreans in all three situations. (immigrated ppl like me, 2nd generation kids who cant speak korean, and visa students).

Visa holding students are only here to study, so thats their main focus and thats why they do good. Also in korea things like math and sciences tend to be faster in terms of pace at school so all korean kids i know are good at math because they have done it before. And as for people like me, my parents immigrated for our benefits (or they say so,) and they want us to do good in school so we could have a better life later on. It sounds corny i know, but maybe thats why the 'foreign' kids try harder.

ha ha its nice that u think they are smart, because really some of them are. but as for me - ive only lived in korea as a little kid - so i feel more like im a canadian than im korean but my parents are still very korean.. and 2nd generation kids usually tend to be more like other kids in school i think...

some are just smart and some just try harder!

From whatever country they come from, the school system probably isn't as good as it is here in the U.S. All the "americanized" kids take school for granted.

because they are supported and pushed by their parents to succeed. It's a whole different mindset for them. School always comes first.
