compared to football matches who seem to sell to general public? Is there some sort of very dodgy monopoly / restricted practice for rugby? (ie PE teachers at school or member of rugby club - OR friend nudge budge wink wink)

Rugby's much more popular than football in Wales, so that has something to do with it. Most tickets are offered to club members first - I'm sure some of those end up being disposed of dodgily, but many do go to deserving members of clubs who give something back to the sport. I know it's frustrating, though - I wish I could get my hands on tickets too! It's definitely got harder since the grand slam - in autumn 2004, I was able to buy tickets for the NZ match several weeks after they'd gone on sale... no such luck these days! Some do get sold for internationals on ticketmaster though.

Mae'r 'crachach' yn cael y rhan fwyaf ohonynt ac wedyn maen't yn eu rhoi/gwerthu i'w teulu/ffrindiau ac mae'r diawlad rheini yn eu gwerthu i'r cyhoedd am bris uffernol.

The 'bignobs' get lots of these and then give them to their family/friends..these then tout them for an extortionate price to the public.
