I think it started with the idea of blondes (women) such as Marilyn Monroe being sex symbols. She definitely portrayed the idea of being a little dumb. I guess during that time period it was sexier to have a dumb woman than a smart one. A dumb woman would give men more power and act more helpless.

I don't know. It offends me too. I had asked a question to this guy about pizza boxes and he said that I was having a "blond moment" It's irritating because people say that I should have been born with blonde hair because I'm an airhead and because I'm ditzy. I feel you girl. Just ignore those stereotypes and laugh at them.

"Blondes being dumb" rolls with the saying *Blondes always have more fun". According to Stereotypes, natural blondes seek to better themselves in other things (such as appearence, popularity,etc...) and not education or common sense. They become icons like Anna Nicole Smith and Marilyn Monroe, seeking to better themselves with simplicity and uses the bright attractiveness of their hair to keep the attention of the people....personally, I can care lees about hair color.

Look at peaches questions and answers, you'll understand. She is the quintessence of stupidity. Oops, now she has to get a dictionary...
Seriously though, people like her reinforce the stereotype like some blacks do for us. At least, you should understand why it's wrong to judge people based on appearance.
