Did you try checking out this site www.ExcelGoodies.Com

They provide online live instructor led sessions, its really cool. But i guess they dont have anything called basics or intermediate or expert levels.. its just one level for them. They teach excel from scratch to expert level.

Its really cool.. may be u can just try checking with them. just visit their website and log into the free chat and ask the excel consultants out there if they offer basic training.

May be u can also ask them for a demo on how things work before you enroll for a course.

The best site it self is from the micropsft.com or you can learn from the help pages of the microsft excel it self.
