I purchased the Sims deluxe edition and installed it. I know that I can make people move and build houses and stuff....but...I don't get what the point of the game is? I keep killing innocent victims from kitchen fires, or pool drownings.
What am I supposed to do?! Thanks for your help!

The point of the game is to make Sims and ruin them or make them rich. This is how you can get more money: Press the Shift key, the CTRL key, and the C key on the keyboard. A grey box appears. Type rosebud in it. It gives you 1,000 simoleons! My sims are rich this way.
Or yuo can destroy them, by giving them cheap furniture and stuff. I personally don't like to do this, since I like my sims to be rich.

It's a very open-ended game, which is why it and the sequel are so popular. Some people play the game just to build houses, while some do it to see how many friends they get their Sim. Some people like to torture their Sims, while some will try and make them has happy as they possibly can. There are no goals or any way to "win" the game. There is just what you make out of it.

Quite frankly there is no "point" of the the game. By that I mean, there is no final goal set by the game that you have to achieve to "finish" the game.
It's up to you to play the game as you wish. As for the kitchen, try building your sims cooking skill points. Do your sims have a way to get out of the pool or did you just put in a diving board? Generally build your sims skills, get them careers, make them rich, create families, promote or destroy relationships. It's great fun.

BTW, you should really get The Sims 2, it's a great game. Much better than the first one.

The Main point of the game is, To crate you family friends and explore the virtual world, maybe the future might be like the Sims deluxe!

Thats why you should have got the Sims 2 because the old sims games are kind of pointless.
