Lipids are fats, they can be used for energy. Carbohydrates serve as fuel and building material for the body. Some lipids (which would include saturated and unsaturated fats) could be butter (saturated) and oil (unsaturated) which can just be added to certain foods.

carbs (glucose) - used to make ATP (energy)

lipids - myelin sheath of neurons
