...as to why human cloning might be undesirable? Or is it just that people "feel uncomfortable" with it?

By logical I mean substantiated with fact/reason

Note: I will even accept "because God said so" as an explanation if:

a) God spoke to you personally and you can prove this :)

or

b) you can quote a passage in the Bible, Qur'an, Tao Te Ching, etc that explicitly refers to cloning.

(No disrespect meant to any religion, I believe in God but I am not aware of any evidence that God is opposed human cloning or any other area of scientific research so far. Although I would think if God was against any technology it would be atom bombs. [shudder].)

Yes. I am opposed to human cloning research at the present time, because...
1. Because we have yet to successfully clone any primate. Ask me again after we've seen cloned monkeys and apes.
2. Because the success rate is so low, even for the animals that we have cloned successfully. It's not too bad if a dozen cow fetuses are aborted, and a dozen calves are born with birth defects, for every successful cloning of cows. It would be horrible if a dozen children were born with birth defects for every successful cloning of humans! Ask me again when the techniques are more sure.

because procreation is the easiest way to go. and FREE

in response to Religion, cloning is taking yourself in the position of God, meaning you can create humankind and God is against that (you shall have no other gods before me -ten commandments (Exodus))
