What do you think about the fact that Daniel Radcliffe's raunchy publicity pictures for "Equus" could alienate him from his "Harry Potter" Fans?

Some mothers have thrown their arms up the air because they felt that it was inapproperiate for Radcliff to have those 'raunchy' photos shown in public. They probably found themselves admiring his manly body then out of fear worrying that it would make them Paedophiles?

I thought Daniel was brilliant in 'Extras' who appears as a highly sexed teenager trying to seduce every woman he meets.
'Extras' season 2, episode 3.

For Daniel Radcliffe's sake, I hope it does. He is in danger of being typecast as "Harry Potter" for the rest of his career. He is just letting the world know that he is an actor and that he is capable of many different roles. If some people only see him as Harry Potter then his career is crippled. Taking some controversial roles is a good idea for him right now. Doing stage acting is an even better idea. That is where actors really hone their craft.

I thinks it's really daft all these parents up in arms about 'he's letting my child down'.
Daniel Radcliffe is an actor. A reasonably good one at that. Equus is actually a classic play, it's about 30 years old. It's nothing new and radical.
For some reason these maddening parents think they somehow own Daniel Radcliffe and he must stay 14 for ever. They tried to do that to Britney and look what happened...

I don't have a problem with it at all actually. The parents need to get over themselves. He is NOT Harry Potter. He is Daniel Jacob Radcliffe. He is not some little boy that goes to a school in another realm practically, he is a human being, and he is HOT! =]

Is it wrong that I thought he looked quite good?!? Harry has got to grow up sometime. I think it was a very good decision to do something so drastically different to Harry Potter, this way he won't be pigeon holed into the same sort of role for the rest of his career.

Harry Potter on Equus is fine, but he'll never be famous for other role, other than Harry Potter!!! Sorry, Daniel! :(

I didn't see anything raunchy in the publicity pics.
His Harry Potter fans are smart enough to recognize he is an actor. Actors try different roles just as fans watch different movies, read different books, try different restaurants etc...it's about variety and exploration.
One can't assume Radcliffe expected his fans to only watch Harry Potter movies any more than the author would expect them to only read her books.
it's a silly argument perpetuated by the media to breed sensationalism in the minds of the ignorant.

I think it's a great career move for him. Harry Potter is a very, very well-known role, and unless he does something really out of that character, he's never going to be seen as a legitimate actor. This is the perfect role to break him away from Harry.

I've always liked harry potter...this is just more of an incentive to go see the movies lol...I think it's cool that he's doing other stuff though and the play got brilliant reviews even from the most miserable critics-I would have loved to seen it

I am a Harry Potter fan, so I don't exactly like him in the nude... He was never really "hot", but he was the perfect character for Harry Potter... He just totally fit the profile... I don't like how he falls in love with a horse either... That's just wrong...
