enter new sceme into wireless adaptor?

ok so my boss has givin me a test he wants me to write down the current sceme then put in this new sceme into my wireless adaptor. i am i computer idiot how do i do this?

Are you talking about the settings for your own computer's wireless adapter, or for the router? To change your own settings, right-click on your wireless connection icon in the status tray (lower right corner of screen, the icon of a computer with arcs radiating out of it) and choose View Wireless Networks, click on "Change the Order Of Preferred Networks". Under the second half in preferred networks, highlight your network and click Properties. The password will be masked, but the other settings are visible. If you need to change the router settings, right-click on the wireless connection icon and choose Status, click on the Support tab, and note your Default Gateway, which is usually 192.168.1.1, but sometimes 2.1 or 0.1, depending on the router. If you don't know the username and password for your router, look up the default values here:
