If you live in a major city, cater-waiters can earn about 150 bucks per event. Start Friday evening, and fit in three mroe events between then and Sunday at midnight and there you go. You'll be tired, but at least you'll have your self-respect and your health intact.

If you don't have time for a yard sale, go through your things and see if you have any items of value you can hock at a pawnshop.
I once hocked a pair of ice skates in August and paid back the loan and got them back in November. PAWN SHOPS are your friend.
Most pawn shops will take anything electronic (MP3s, Walkmans), small appliances (microwaves), jewelry, clothing, musical instruments, etc..
