fashion designers are non productive members of society,
They actually are a drainon our society b/c they try to stress such insiginifigant matters. They basically do not contribute to society in any way and should be shot....

Yea fashion designers are stupid but they make stuff for the Victoria's secrets girls to wear and I like to watch them walk down the runway thing.

Fashion isn't useless. It isn't just about running around and cloning models or trying to look exactly how the designers say you should look.
Fashion is about making a statement with what you are wearing. It can play a huge role in different parts of your life. Whether we like it or not, your clothes say as much about you as anything you speak. Someone with an unkempt look about them is far less likely to get a job than someone dressed neatly. When you're out on a date, the way you're dressed will speak volumes about the type of person you are. So how can fashion be useless?
This is hardly a new concept. Even hundreds of years ago, the way people dressed impressed their status upon society.
As for people spending lots of money on fashion... People who have lots of money will spend it on whatever they want to spend it on. If it isn't fashion, it will be jewelery or cars or houses or furniture. You can't control what other people spend.
And yes- designers stress fashion because it is their livelihood. Just as a carpenter stresses the need for good furniture and car salesman stresses the need for cars.

Well...most often the stylish clothing (especially the stuff in vogue magazine...yuck) is hideous and I don't even know why anyone would wear it. (e.g. Clashing patterns and colors, creepy make-up, wearing leggings as pants, shorts so short you can see the pockets, string bikinis etc.) If I could, I would wear blazers and sweaters all the time. But sadly, there is summer and my unfortunate desire to conform to the non-conformist culture.

I think they're neck and neck with the government. They aren't useful at all and sell a yard of cloth, wrapped around someone's body for thousands of dollars.

fashion is a wonderful thing, it lets u feel good, plus it is a great way to express yourself, u can alot about a person by what they wear!!!!!! i love fashion it is my favorite thing i love it it just makes me feel good and it makes me feel like ME!
