I'm a mature and curvy woman and love alot of the styles in at the mo, but always find that retailers assume that you are braindead when it comes to wanting to look good without looking ancient. Does anyone know where i can find good fashion clothes for the size 20, well proportioned shape that doesnt cost the earth. Tips will be appreciated (but not of the diet type, thanx!)

I have a couple of mates who are in bigger sizes and they swear by evans which i think is modern fashion and they always look nice.I think it is awful how there is very little of shops which cater for bigger sizes. Most stores will only go up to a size 14/16,its a complete joke and more should be done to suit every shape, size and form.I have seen a ad on telly recently which caters for sizes 14-32 if that is any help. You can visit their site on www.simplybe.co.uk which looks quite alright to me.At least with that you can try clothes on in the comfort of your own home.
Hope i have been of some help,if not i do apologise but good luck.

try Dorothy Perkins, my sister was a size 20 and looked lovely in their clothes, also if you want some going out clothes try next or monsoon.I would agree to try going for basics and use accessories. I'm a size 14 and i prefer to do a simple look but add a nice bag or scarf! and if your looking for a wonderful brown scarf try h&m i just got one from there and everyone i speak to loves it. Try maybe wearing a bit of a heal either in the day or when you go out in evening.Im glad you dont want diet tips i think more women should be happy with the way they look. Anyway hope i've helped and if i think of any more then i'll get back to you.

well i work in evans, and feel that back in the days it had a reputation of quite frumpy clothing but now i must say that they are really stepping up, they have some really great fashionable tunics which is good for women who do not want there stomachs being seen, another place is the new looks inspire range that has just got bigger versions of their original stock, h&m have a bigger range that goes up to like a 26, and also dorothy perkins who size up to a 20 - in my opinion they have the similar types of clothing that evans have.
hope that helped. have fun shopping
:-)

A clothing store called "The Answer". They have georgeous up to date clothing for larger size women. They may have a website too. Also go on line and do a search for: women's clothing for size 20. Also there is a clothing line by a large size model called Emmie. Her clothing is georgeous. Look that up on line too. Also Macy's has a wonderful large size woman's dept. too. Try these recommendations and I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

I complimented a woman my age (26) about her cute clothes the other day and she told me she got them at Lane Bryant. I haven't been in there but she says she likes that store because it isn't old lady clothes. I think Old Navy carries up to a size 20 as well.

I don't know if you would call them really fashionable, but I like getting my stuff at Lane Bryant. They have a website and they send it out pretty fast.
