Sooo....he's nice except for when he speaks? Ummm...yeah.

Tell him you find his comments offensive and you'd rather he not talk about people like that around you.

Or be more blunt and tell him he's a bigot and his limited view of the world disgusts you so go away.

I would tell him that the way he talks upsets you. Tell him you try not to sterotype people and see what he says. If he apologizes then maybe you can give him something to think about. But this may be hard for you to remain friends, as sure enough he will come up with some racist viewpoint and will embarrass you in front of others. But give him a chance first. Sometimes people dont realize how ignorant they are really being.

I don't think you need to end the friendship, but I do think it's important for you to say something. And the fact that you are his friend will make you words all the more meaningful. I would try, at first, to just not make a big deal about it. Next time he says something racist, just say something like "Hey man, that's not cool. I have friends that are that race." If he doesn't get the hint and says something again, you could try saying something like, "That kind of bothers me when you say things like that . . mind not saying things like that again?" or "That bothers me when you say things like that." If you try to get him to stop saying those things and it's still not working, you may want to reevaluate whether you want to be friends with a type of person who says cruel things and won't try to stop saying things that make you uncomfortable. A friend shouldn't make another one upset, especially if you ask him not to.

Good luck! And good for you not wanting to hear racist things like that . . not everyone can stand up to their friends. :)

You probably shouldn't end the friendship if it's a good one ( you know, someone you've grown up with), but rather let him know that it bothers you. Remember, you can't change someone's opinion of the world nor should you want to. But YOU don't have to deal with it personally. Tell him you enjoy the friendship, but you'd rather not touch on that subject

You label people racists, and he labels people (whatever he calls other races). Accept that each of you have your faults, and don't end your friendship over your opposing viewpoints if the relationship is good otherwise.

how can he be a nice guy when he has no values , ethics and totally lacks character!
sorry but I would end it ! sometimes people come to their senses but if not , they are entitled to believe what ever they want , just as long as I don't have to deal with that sort of behavior!

good luck

say i don't think its good to talk about people.if you cant say something good about someone do not say anything at all.Because God could of made you to be a pencil. He could of made you to be a dog.If you don't judge others God will not judge you.and then say remember these words and i am just trying to help you.If i did not care i would let you continue to destroy yourself. What goes around comes around. If you spit in the wind that is blowing at you you will get all the spit back in your face

I would first point out to my friend that what he is saying if offensive to you and ask him to stop. If he doesn't understand or respect your wishes, he isn't a true friend. And really, do you want someone as a friend who has racist opinions?
